Miguel Buckenmeyer participated early in the redesign process—which sought to identify the IHT more closely with its parent, The New York Times Company, as well as accentuate its business and culture-related content. Our role consisted largely of developing components of the graphic identity of the paper by generating ideas for front-page skyboxes, columnist logos, section headings, special grids and assorted journalistic labeling devices rather unfortunately labeled “kickers” and “slugs.”
